Using biochemical, spectroscopy and crystallography methods, Dr. Brotosudarmo succeeded to characterize the polypeptide heterogeneity in the unusual light harvesting complexes (LH2) from purple photosynthetic

bacteria Rhodopseudomonas palustris. It is shown that protein able to control the absorption of sunlight energy and make the energy funneling possible. This achievement is published in Biochemical Journal with impact factor of 5.016.
